I just need a secretary or sell out my portion of these so someone else can enjoy the pleasure of putting them on. A lot has changed in the 4 years of doing these. Going from a 12-15 boat average to now having a 34 boat average with 38 teams last tournament means even more work and stress. Trying to keep everything straight with early entry checks to cash and then having to be at Bucksaw for entries the morning of. Losing quality fishing time each event and gas to get back to where I want to fish from Bucksaw instead of starting the morning at a ramp closer to home if I need to. If anyone is interested in taking these over for 2014 season I can make someone a deal on the equipment or buy myself out with some of the extra money in our kitty from shirt sales and such and then the scales, table and weigh in board would be CDC's. Unless something changes I will not be doing them next year. Time for me to concentrate more on my tournament fishing, guiding and jig business. I really enjoy these tournaments along with everyone fishing them. But makes it tough to be competitive myself when giving up so much time at start and end of each one then stressing out over making sure everything is ready for weigh in and payouts so it runs smoothly to ensure everyone enjoys them. I would be glad to help anyone out all I can to see that these can continue to be a success next year and also continue to grow as they have for the last several years.

I know it is small potatoes, but I would be more than willing to help out with the spreadsheet and points standings. Maybe we can get some extra help from a few other members on here, to lighten the work load. You have done a great job with these tournaments, that is why there is always such a great turn out. But, either way you slice it, that is a lot of work for one person...

I would be interested in buying out or taking over for you. I like everything that you guys have put together and apprecite your endless hard work. I have enjoyed all the other tournaments I have put on. I still would need someone up front as I am not much of a public speaker. Maybe this is the time to start up and organize a crappie club for everyone to enjoy?

Sure you do, me too, the guys have gone above and beyond. So how do you feel if they take a cut of the purse? Cause to expect people to continue to put their own time and own money into it for nothing in return except an occasional "thank you" is unrealistic. Jared, Lenny, and before them Kevin have put a lot into it, it's time for a change or let them be compensated. I can testify that none of them are in it for their good looks

If Jared needs some software or computer program to make his job alot easier I say that the teams that fish the tournaments can pay for it. If you need an excel program that cost $300 dollars and we are averaging over 30 boats, then in the july tournament everybody can kick in an extra $10. Then you will have what u need at mo additional cost to you. I love fishing these tournaments, and dont think anyone should be spending money out of their own pocket. Raise the entry to $40 a boat and whoever is running it gets a free entry. Just my .02 cents worth.

Someone with a little more brain power than me can make easy work of the points system for no added cost. It is not about making a dollar for Lenny and me with these. We just want to see them continue to grow or maintain the level we have reached. I hate to see any part of it change since it works so well right now and everyone has such a great time. The entry fee is about right to attract all levels of fisherman. I think everyone would still fish them if it was a $10 entry fee. Its not about the $$/winnings in these its more about bragging rights, being around a bunch of great guys and gals and there is nothing else to fish throughout the summer and fall. I can't speak for Lenny but know he is also very busy with his job. I recently left/retired from my real job to pursue my dream of having my own fishing related business. I need to have all the time I can to make it work out. I am still more than willing to help out at weigh ins and whatever else is needed. Just need to get the bulk of it passed on to some one with more time. Lenny also does a lot from taking care of the regatta permits to getting his feet wet at weigh ins to driving several hours one way to pick up plaques. Maybe we can have Jim and/or anyone else interested in helping out along with some of the teams stick around and discuss what we would want to try for next year.

One thing I done back in 91 when I ran the Truman Lake Crappiemasters, we averaged about 30 boats from March to November.... was I only give a $100 bill to and for big crappie......then split the rest with as many teams as I could, and kept nothing for myself, I let my Prop Business take the expense, such as scales, gas for wife to bring scales and board down to Barry Bend for the weigh ins....... back in the good old days....So if you are holding out say $5 for big crappie, once you hit 20 boats, put the rest in your kitty to handle points race,expenses,etc......and just pay the $100 for big crappie, since I can't fish these I have no voice, just letting you know what has been done in the past.......
