never cared for rigging but it is a way to fish so let the boys who want to do it,but don't care for minners either but have no problem with those who do.It's more getting together with a great bunch of guys and swapping stories than anything else.Sure, bragging rights is great also but it's not the main reason I think most of us fish these tournaments.

So far it looks like points over weights for "points" system. May do like Kaz said with the 1 for a win 2 for second and lowest total for X amount of tournaments. May take best five tournaments for the year. We use to fish a bass circuit that gave a 100 for first and then 99 for second and so on down the list. Can figure that part out later. Also looks like some don't like rigging but don't mind others doing it on the tournaments. I think it will equal out through out the season. Some guys may dominate with out doing it and some may do well all year by rigging.
What does everyone say about a $10 one time fee to get in the points race? That would pay for plaques for top end of year teams and for big fish for the season. If a team does not want in the points or does not think they will fish enough tournaments they would no have to enter it or pay. Would get as many plaques as we can pay for with funds. So may have them for top 3 teams and top two big fish weights or could have enough for top five teams and top three big fish weights. Would just have to see what we end up with. Also looking for some local sponsership to help with this. Would be nice to have some for each tournament if possible. Or maybe get some hats made to give out at each tournament. Is everyone fine with the $25 + $5 for big fish again for this year? Seems it was about right to keep people coming back and getting some new to tournament teams in because it was not to expensive to give it a shot to see if they liked it. another thing that everyone talked about was the fish fry and hotdog meal afterwords. Everyone stuck around and shot the breeze afterwords when we had those. So I would like to try and do some of that again also. I will get a list of what all we have talked about and the. Can add to it or take some stuff off as we keep discussing this. Thanks for the input and keep it coming.

Another suggestion was to run the points for the whole season instead of best however many tournaments. This will make it a lot easier to keep track of also. Sounds like the best way to me.
Also need to look at length of tournaments. Last year was start at 7am be in weigh in line at 3pm. Had several people who travel a long ways that were wanting to shorten the time. I hate to cut it back to much. But 7-2 would not be to be bad. Thoughts on length of tournament day?

Any interest in a points race for co-ed teams? Can keep points for it separate from other points and award plaques for top team/teams at end of year.

And I have seen u fish and yes if your gonna fish the Truman tourneys you better bring all 187 of your Riggin rods cause that ll be the only way you ll be able to sniff 7 fish up here in hog country! Bwahahaha!!!!

Well just to raise a few more questions.....if you run the points for the whole season and base it on lowest points for first place....say the guy who won the very first tourn of the year didn't fish in anymore....would he win the plaque because he only had one point? Or do you penalize him for not showing up and give him 10 pts for each no-show?

Maybe it could be based on 7 tournaments (any 7), the team could pick their best seven finishes. I guess any # would work, but I think the more you base it on, the less chance of ties. That way a team can miss some tournaments and still be in the running at the end.

Vic we will do it on the 100 point system. 100 for 1st 99 for 2nd and so on down through the field. It will be a lot simpler to do it for the whole season. Other wise I will have to go through each team and find out their however many tournaments finishes to figure the points. We had close to 50 different teams fish last year so that would get difficult. It will be fun however we decide to do it. We had a pretty good number of teams fish all of them last year. We averaged 19 teams last year. Hope to see some good turnouts again this year.
