Bucky, I bring him an 18 pack every time we go. Bob invests his time putting up with me, his boat, his gas, no wait! We didnt have any until we got back to the marinaRofl Also, true to the spirit of CDC, our pals Brobrash and Pat helped us out. Here is how that conversation went as they pulled up alongside of us; Brobrash "Got a problem?" Bob' "Yeah, engine wont stay running" Brobrash; "got a rope?" Bob, "no" Brobrash, "Got 50 bucks?" Then came the best part; watching Brobrash try to tie a knot in the rope. Don't know how many fish this guy loses due to poor knots but it must be a ton. Bob finally had to take over and tie the ropes togetherRofl
I have learned a lot from this site and another usefull idea from Bob on Saturday. Put just enough fuel in the boat to get to the creek, catch a lot of fish, them have someone tow you back to the marina lol. I've been on that end a few times and glad to help out. Jack, didn't think you used minnows, are those legal? Didn't want to put a knife knot in Bobs 2ft tow rope so I tied an improved Kurt knot, but Bob wanted to show me his bowline that ended up a knife not anyway and his tow rope is now 1.5 ft. I dont loose fish, I loose hooks lol. Pat and I did catch some fish that day and no rods were broken in the process.

Sounds like an eventful day. I am with you on the running out of gas. I ran mine out last Saturday up by U hwy bridge on my way back to get the weigh in setup. I had $600 of the torunament guys money in my pocket that I knew they would want so figured I would have no problem getting back to the ramp. Hunter Bowling which is Richard's son brought me 3 or 4 gallons of gas and we made it back in just in time for the weigh in. Sure pays to have a few local guys numbers in your phone in case of boat problems. Even if they are self inflicted problems like running out of gas. Jack I guess the 60 ft rod has not arrived yet?
PS Bucksaw is great about helping out anyone in need of a tow or gas or whatever the need may be. Everyone fishing around Bucksaw should have there number in your phone also. Thanks to the Bowling boys for helping me out last weekend.
