That's the one I was talking about. I still have it at home, I think, broken though it is. I should get the model off of it...see if it can be resurrected cuz it was a dandy.

Haven't seen these, but like I said, I got the bigger one w/o the rear drag and it is solid. I forget the model...Solstace 2500, maybe? I'm not surprised that Shimano is trying to put a low-end Name: plastic.JPG

Size: 1.1 KB graphite reel out there but it sucks that they're putting their name on sub-par products. Then again, the jury's still out on whether that new reel you have will hold up, but...keep me posted nonetheless.

I'm not sure that's true. Finding them is another story.

Oh, yeah...I'm sure many aren't all that difficult to find. After looking around at Cabelas a bit I could find one with the QuickFire. Had to weed through a lot of them that didn't have that, though.

I guess I'm just sayin' that when I went out to Shimano's site I was amazed at how extensive their product line was, especially in comparison to the number of reels you'll see in the local store, and that there are *SEVERAL* with the QuickFire, but they're more difficult to locate in the stores, comparatively speaking.

YES THAT IS THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING! I DIDN'T THINK TO CHECK OUT THE SHIMANO WEB SITE! THANKS JOEDOG FOR THE IDEA! I WILL GET ON THERE AND TAKE A LOOK. BET THEY WILL LET ME KNOW WHO HANDLES THEM. THAT IS THE TROUBLE WITH BP AND CABELAS YOU ARE LIMITED TO WHAT THE STORE BUYERS WANT YOU TO BUY. THE WAY THAT CARL TALKED AT THE BP REEL COUNTER WAS THAT THEY WERE NOT MAKING THEM ANY MORE.

I WANTED A SOLID BOAT SEAT POST FOR ONE OF THOSE SMALL SEATS SO I COULD USE IT FISHING A BASS TOURNMENT. BP & CABELAS DIDN'T OFFER IT. ENDED UP GETTING ON THE COMPANIES WEB SITE AND FOUND THEM. THEN I CALLED THEM AND THEY TOLD ME WHERE TO GET ONE AT. I HAD TO ORDER THEM FROM WEST MARINE.

How much are those? I liked the trigger, but like I said, I bought cheap ones or was something Mom bought me when I was younger, and the trigger quits pulling the bail clip over.....Just grease them hu? I might try them again someday.

THIS ONE COST ME $60.00 BUT IT IS THE SMALLEST ONE I HAVE EVER PUCHASED OF THE SHIMANO. I THINK I AM GOING TO LOVE IT! 5 BALL BEARINGS.
