    Default stroke

well if it ain't one thing it's another, Got Miss Sharon home on Thursday, truck unloaded, clothes put up, Miss Sharon is her easy chair Me taking a break from a long week. sat down in my favorite chair out the doors and BAM went blind in left eye. could not see but on the right side both eyes.... well went to VA in spg on request from eye doctor, they found out I may have had a stroke, so they sent me to the ER ,,, said they would call over and get me set up.. yea right. well by the golly they did in fact do that, walked in presented myself to the clerk, bang wheelchair. into a room, 10 min there up to floor 6, spent 4 days there, seems the stroke was localized to just eye sight, no where else, occipital stroke. still having trouble seeing, but sight is slowly coming back.... Hear is the scary part. 200 hundred mile trip from KC to home and the stroke held off till we got home, now boys and girls that is scary. so sitting watching the chickens peck, and taking it easy,,,, just thought I would share.

Dang, when it rains it pours. Hate to hear this. Hopefully all the bad is behind and things get better for you and Miss Sharon soon.

    Sorry to hear that.
My mom had the same thing a couple years ago.
It’s not as bad a “real” stroke as in the blockage is in the eye not the brain so that’s a good thing. Her Dr said that if her eyesight did try to recover it would do more harm than good and they would have to surgically blind her in that eye. (Dunno)
Still this is not nothing. She had to learn to walk again, get used to bouncing into things as her depth perception is wrecked, and learn to drive again though she stays much closer to home.

Anyways for your sake I’m glad it’s all it is, the crappie beware.

Bless you sir. Been there done that. Mine was a blood clot on the brain. They gave me a TPA shot in the nick of time to reverse effects. Very scary.
