Congrats on the win. Sounds like an all day affair cooking cane syrup down here. Not many still do it.
The first weekend in October each year we cook 30 gallons of apple butter over an open fire. We cook it the way my grandparents did on their farm on the German Prairie, west of Mt. Vernon, MO. Lotta work, takes 14-15 hours of constant stirring. We make GOOD apple butter. Family and friends help. Anyone who stirs gets apple butter and good eats off my smoker.
Anyhow, we entered it in the Missouri State Fair this year.
Congrats on the win. Sounds like an all day affair cooking cane syrup down here. Not many still do it.
