You know what going to happen when you take it there. It going to run perfect.
Take it to Sportsman's Outfitter & Marine up on Peculiar Drive. Joe jr. or Scott.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

Only thing to do is take one of them fishing.

A buddy of mine had the same thing happen to his merc. He found out the carb needed rebuilt. I don't dare try and get much more technical than that, he told me, but I would undoubtedly mess it up. It was something about some bulging floats or filters or some such bidness in the carbs. They sometimes get out of synch as well. WAY WAY over my pay grid!!!!
Keeferfish introduced me to a great boat mechanic up here near Smithville and I would highly recommend him, but it's a little out of the way for the Truman fellers.
I believe in catch and release.....right into the grease!!!!!
Buddy of mine had a 2000 something Johnson do this very same thing. Start up cold then shut it off and fish for 15 to 30 minutes and it was a bear to get started. He took it to Cowtown in Cuba and told them what it was doing. A couple days later and he gets a call from the mechanic and he said there isn’t anything wrong with it. It starts fine. He said you need to reread the ticket!!!! Finally narrowed it down to a stater.
Ordered a new stator but after looking at what is involved in instalation I will want to find someone to install it.

Probably a smart move!!! What’s the old saying, only 2 people take the back end off a watch, a fool and a jeweler. Might be the same saying on tearing into the electronics of a boat motor!!! Lol

when you get this frustrated time to take it to the "guy". has the tools and expertise to figure this out. Did that with my fuel line issue last fall and didn't cost much at all to get it diagnosed and fixed.

Took the boat to Bill at Son Sac Marine. After describing the problem to him it sounds like a problem with the electric choke. Now if he can just get the problem to occur again so he can run some tests.
