Outboard problem
First I want to thank Greg (Hogster) for the assist at the ramp when we got towed in Saturday as my daughter doesn’t back a trailer.
Now the the question. I have a 2006 Mercury 2-stroke with a frustrating problem. Of course it is the type that only happens at the most inopportune time. (Like downstream from Warsaw with a lot of current. Sometimes when I have to start the motor after fishing for a while I will have to choke the motor as if it was cold. Once I get it started it will run just fine. Then there was yesterday. It just wouldn’t start no matter what. Usually I can wait 5-10 minutes and it will start but not convenient in a 5 mph current. The frustrating part is I got home and I started with no problem. Bang head. Thinking about replacing the coil packs, spark plugs and the fuel line. Any ideas? This has happened on occasion but never had to be towed.
