    Default Motor problem

Out last weekend and my 150 Mariner sounded a little sick so loaded it up and took it to my mechanic. Its alot sick, number 3 cylinder almost no compression and 2 others plugs burnt grey. Anyone know of any rebuilt 150 engines out there or other options. Just bought a new truck so new engine out of the question. Any help appreciated. Worst time to happen with the bite so good. Thanks.

    Is it worth rebuilding?

You could get a rebuilt power head for $3400. Comes with a 12 month warranty.

I was told around 5000. That was here at Table Rock at a tech in Shell Knob.

If I wouldn't have bought the new truck I would have bought brand new one, I really like my ole Ranger.

If you go either way, try to figure out what made it pop to begin with. I found the hard way that I had a bad injector.

Tough spot to be in. My experience is that rebuilds on a two stroke can be ok or a disaster with recurring problems, Speck is correct. And beware of cheaper quotes, sometimes you get what you pay for. I know the people at Crowley well, very well, class organization but Denver is a long ways.

When my 300 yamaha went out, the repair shops here wanted $4500-$5000 to rebuild it with a 90 day warranty. I went with Crowley and the 12 month warranty for basically $1000 less money. That was three years ago now. I've been pleased so far.
