That was supposed to say I don’t know if there will be ice below the dam.

Montrose is an older plant and is on the KCP&L "retire or update" list. It stopped burning coal Dec. 31, 2016. The alternative is to convert it to natural gas. A close-by gas pipeline is required, no idea if that is available. Since Obama is out of office things could have changed.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

I forgot to update, sorry guys. I went down on the eighth and scoped it out. It was almost completely frozen over but it was still worth the drive. I saw all kinds of waterfowl and a few eagles. From there I drove down below Truman dam and just made a day out of cruising around. I went to the back up water below the dam and someone had knocked a few holes in the ice so I dropped a jig in and caught a few tiny crappie.

This is one of the smallest crappie I’ve ever caught but it was better than no crappie.Name: IMG_3785.jpg

There is a group on FB called Truman Rock Rats, pretty much just about fishing the rocks below truman. If they run water , it takes the ice away,I hear they ran water a couple days ago. They were catching pretty good crappie off the docks in the backwater side. I was going to try it today, but I ran out of time, they said it froze over about dark tonight.

Thanks for the info Rgp332. Hopefully I can get down there Saturday and Sunday this week while it’s warm.
