    Default Power trim pump leak.

Laura and I decided go pull some cranks for some Arkabutla hawgs. We left the house at 4:00am Sunday and made the 2 1/2 hour drive to butla. It pretty much rained on us the whole way down there. (Omen number one). We get to the boat ramp and it's pouring rain. (Omen number 2).I noticed there were only three other vehicles on the parking lot and one of those was Mr. Green jeans. (Omen number three). Well we took our time getting the boat ready and the rain let up so we launched. We ran about 5-6 miles to one of my honey holes. Found the lake about 6 feet lower than this time last year. I deployed the Terrova, raised the outboard out of the water to reduce drag and started fishing. After three bites and one dink in 4 hours of fishing in a down pour we had enough. We stowed all of the gear and started to head for the ramp. Oh no!! No hydraulics on the trim and the outboard is tilted up. I put the trolling motor down and start the 5 mile trek back to the ramp. About this time, Mother Nature decided it was a good time for another round of thunder storms. After trolling for a mile or so at 1.4 mph, I was able to lower the outboard enough to get some prop in the water. We fired up and motored the remaining 4 miles with the nose in the air and throwing a 12 foot rooster tail. Lol. Laura was a trooper the whole time, just laughing and smiling like she was having a blast. After we got back home. I check the hydro fluid level and it was about empty. I filled it and the power trim worked like new. Now I have to find where it's leaking and get it fixed. Sorry for the long story but I thought I'd vent.

You should have stood on the bow to keep the nose down and let her drive.

Yep, tried that. Too much tilt on the motor and not enough lead in my ***

May of been a pita, but a turn on the Manuel release to drop the motor would of done the trick. Glass you all made it in safe and hope it's not to expensive to get fixed .

Thanks JR, I thought about that as well. Couldn't locate the manual release. I need to get familiar with that model.

Sounds like a day I had a couple weeks ago. Hooked up to the boat ready to go and starter went out of truck. Repaired truck off to the lake , off to fishing whole, THEN neutral safety switch out of bass boat having to jump starter seliniod across to start boat. OK ENOUGH. To the house I go to build fence and the dam battery goes bad on the 4 wheeler. So I jut went set down nd had several cold cans.

Hey, Speck.....you should have put out a shout on the MS Board that you needed a tow. There's several of us that live close to Butla. I would have been glad to hook up and come get you. I'm about 30 min. from there!
