Thread: any luck on the James River?

Howdy!

I am taking the boy out to do a little float/fishing on the James River this weekend. We are putting the canoe in upstream from Galena. Hoping to get into some smallies, rock bass or largies. Figured we start by throwing curly tail grubs on a lead head.. maybe texas rig a craw...

Any advice would be good.
