    Default Dang nabit rabbit.

Air conditioner froze up Friday. Freon all leaked out. Unit is old and needs replaced. It uses the old type freon. Not energy efficient. It is a SEER 10. Also furnace needs a new $300 fan motor. Looks like we may just get a whole new system. Did redneck air conditioning last night and tonight too. Box fan in window pulling air through a couple open windows.

Your bills will go down if you get an energy saving unit! If you can do any insulating around the house that will help too!

Years ago mom had good windows put in. So after she passed we had some work done on the house before we moved in. Had insulation blown in attic and new doors and storm doors put in. It is an older brick house from 1955 that my grandpa had built. It is solid brick on outside. Red blocks inside that with sim cement coating over that from what we could tell. No way ton sulfate walls without building new walls inside. Yes will be getting energy efficient air conditioner.

Got mine fixing to have to replace. Overcharged it last time hoping to make it to cool weather before replacing. Cheaper to replace than just to replace A coil and keep 15 year old compressor. Same thing 10 ser. Have to tear out a door to the attic to get unit out and new one in. Going to make that a one shot deal.

I just had mine replaced last fall. Had the heat pump and went to gas this time on the furnace. What a difference.
