    Default Angler's Port BLEW IT.

Had a red 2015 Ranger RT188 (bass boat) set up with 3 seat mounts up front advertised on their website. 34 hours on it. I prefer the bass model, more storage, big front deck. Plus the 3 across seat mounts for rigging were an add on. Pics looked really nice.
Called Wed. afternoon and asked if it was still available, lady said yes, it's out on the used boat lot. Told her I wanted to run down and look at the boat but my wife had therapy until 5PM, they close at 5 PM. Lady said no problem, they have two guys who live close by who could come show me the boat after hours. I told her it would be 6 or 6:30 driving down from Peculiar. Gave me a name and phone no., said just call him if you come down. She took my name and number, said she would get it to the guy and he would probably call me. Didn't.
Wife got home and we left for Angler's Port. I called the number, no answer. About Urich I called again, no answer. Called again at Clinton, no answer, left a voice message and my name/number. Crossing Truman on 7 I called again, no answer, left another message. No return call.
Got to Angler's Port. The boat was on the lot, had a white plastic shipping cover on it, thought good deal, storm had just passed through. I was able to lift the cover a bit and get a look, the boat looked new. NICE boat. Told the wife I was going to make an offer on it. I deal in cash. Headed back to Peculiar without a warm fuzzy feeling regarding the no answer guy.
I was tied up Thursday, Dr's appointment in Lee's Summit and a scheduled FedEx home drug delivery I had to be there to sign for. Humira, $1750 a shot, I get one every 2 weeks.
Sooooooo............... I called Angler's Port today, told the lady the deal. Lady sez she will get the guy I left messages for to the phone. He answers, I tell him who I am and I'm interested in the Ranger. He says which one? The red one I say (only red one they had). He says that boat left this morning. It was sold 2 days ago. That frosted me. Guy says we have another RT188, silver. I said it is not equipped with the 3 across seating up front so I'm not interested in it. He said we have new ones. Bait and switch. I said they are out of my price range. He said this is the busiest day of the year, lot is crawling with customers, I really don't have time to be answering the phone. That iced it. Hung up.
I'm going to buy a boat and I will pay cash. But not from Angler's Port. Not this lifetime. They don't need business, they have plenty.

Oh, I have a nice 2007 Tracker Pro Crappie 175 with 60 Merc. 4 stroke for sale, low hours. Front deck isn't roomy enough for me. PM me if interested.

WoW sorry to hear about all of that have heard nothing but great things about Anglers' and have had good experience with them in the past.
You may want to hold out a bit sound like a model chang this year. And it could have some big changes.
Good luck in your search Mike

I also heard good about them.
They left it for sale on their website two days after it was sold.

That would irritate me too not to at least answer the phone.

All I have ever heard on this site and other's is that they are to be all, end all of boat dealers. That being said I bet the folks who own the place would be interested in this story. Think I would make sure they heard it straight from me. If you got treated like that on trying to make a purchase how does that speak to the rest of their customer service.

If one of my employees treat one of my customers like that they will be working for someone else. That's just wrong in my book. I thought that was a good place to shop. We have a cabin straight south of there that place is always busy.

They sure dropped the ball on you Mike. Sorry to hear it because I have recommended them to other guys in the market based on my own experience.

Hopefully no hard feelings on this Mike but I am the one that ended up with the RT188 from there. I was lookin at ordering one almost exactly like it. Two other options that I would have ordered. Was going to be close to 8 week wait for a 2017 setup like I wanted. I emailed Pete which is off on Wednsedays and told him I would like to see this one. He was not going to be there but I drove down Wed and looked it over. I emailed and talked to Pete Thursday morning. He left a voice mail with the owner since it was a consignment and not actually Angler's Ports boat. The owner did not get back with him until around 5:30 Thursday to accept my offer. Then I went down Friday morning to pick it up and give the guy a check. Like I said hopefully no hard feelings on this.

Jared it's not about you and certainly no hard feelings. It's about the B.S. runaround that pisses me off. They knew it was sold when I called the first time, told me it was available and let me drive an hour down to look at a sold boat. They do that to get you on the lot then try to sell you another boat. Only it didn't work because the sales person wouldn't answer his phone like they said he would. They won't have to worry about my truck taking up space on their lot.
And congrats on getting a fine boat. Only one I've seen with the 3 across seats up front and it's like new. I'm leaning toward ordering one. Not from Angler's Port though. Smithville Marine and Cabela's sell Ranger. Or I can run down home to Sprangfiel.
Need to sell the Tracker Pro Crappie 175 then I have the cash. Sold my Champion and Harley.
