St. Joseph, Mo. – The Missouri Department ofConservation (MDC) will offer a free ice fishing workshop 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. onSaturday, Jan. 30, at Happy Holler Lake Conservation Area. This workshop isdependent on weather conditions and will be canceled if ice conditions are notfavorable or if temperatures are too cold.
Ice fishing is a good way to catch fish in winter.But knowing what species of fish to target and what areas under the ice areproductive is helpful. This will be a hands-on workshop. Participants can bringtheir own gear or use bait and tackle supplied by MDC. Anglers should dress forcold weather for the on-ice portion of the workshop.

This event has been cancelled until further notice....temperatures in the 50's at the end of the week have made the ice conditions a little too iffy.....will try to reschedule if and when the next arctic blast comes...sorry
