Default Another Theft--Cooper Creek This Time

I had a great afternoon fishing Friday, but the day turned sour when I came back in to Cooper Creek to load the boat. It seems that someone thinks they need my spare tire and tire cover worse than I do. That took a wonderful day and turned it to crap!

The replacement has a 3/8" cable attaching it to the trailer and the new cover won't have Ranger (or anything else printed on it). My bad for being so naive with the first one.

Prevalent there and Sparrowfoot too, aware of several the last couple years. Seems worse in the fall and winter, less people around I guess. If you knew someone at Ranger they might get you a good deal on a replacement spare tire cover

I don't think it is so much you being naive. I mean seriously! That's only a half step from jacking up your truck and taking the tires off it, too, y'know? Jackasses.

As Kaz told me, that may have taken enough time that they were afraid to do further damage. I wish that I still had my old .270 and was sitting across on the other side of Cooper. No doubt in my mind that I could drop 'em in their tracks. Maybe hang 'em in the trees like a dead crow.

Oh well, thoughts like that make me worse than the thieves.

Thanks for the idea, Kaz. Putting a plain old black cheap a_ _ cover on the plain old cheap a_ _ wheel.

you can go years and years, leave stuff laying in the back of the truck, doors unlocked, forget and leave keys in the truck.....and never have anyone touch nothing. But then one day....when you least expect it....

A few years back I heard somebody was stealing trailers off boats at Wildcat creek launch Blood river on Kentucky Lake. I thought man...that would be weird, show up back at the ramp and no way to get your boat home.

How lost is a man's soul when he has so little respect for other people that he will take their stuff.

I had a 5 gallon can of gas stolen out of the bed of my truck several years ago while working in the bad part of town. I waited a couple of weeks and got another 5 gallon gas can full of gas. Only this time, I dumped a half a bag of sugar in it. It only took a couple of days for that can to get stolen but it was a satisfying feeling knowing that I locked up the thieves motor this time.
