we got lots, of both, I have noticed about every three years a low crop, maybe your in a down cycle, bet other places around you are doing ok ....
Does anybody see any on trees this years? The hickory by the house has 4 nuts on it. The walnuts that I have seen by the house are empty also. Haven't checked for acorns. Hope the squirrels have leftovers from last winter.

Probably in the down cycle. That means they will hitting my bird feeders this winter. LOL. Last winter they must have had lots of feed because they didn't bother feeders.
My hickories are loaded, but even with a bumper crop of nuts, the squirrels are always into my feeders anyway....*$#@&^((!
Acorns and walnuts are thick on my deer hunting property
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
my walnuts are so loaded down, I have lost a few limbs and all are sagging. hate them dang things, such a mess every year. haven't noticed the hickory's yet but the oaks look like there will be plenty of acurns
Oaks and hickory trees are loaded around my place
Went for a hike this AM to check damage to favorite fishing hole. Trail was new to me so was looking at all the sights. First dozen or so walnut were barren. then suddenly one tree was covered in nuts. Got me thinking about a discussion a neighbor and I had a couple days ago about the squirrels taking all the apples off my apple tree and the lack of nuts on the 20 or so trees we can see from the yard. So I counted tree and trees with nuts on my return trip. 65 trees total, 7 had decent crop of nuts. I am thinking that the spring rains and storms we had may have hit at just the right time and destroyed the crop.
Mine are loaded up and the hickory are already being hit by squirrels. Thankfully I do not have many walnut trees hate the mess and the mower throws them pretty good.
Walnuts are thick at our property in MO......... that's good, cause I just picked up a new .22 that needs a workout!
