Rebound warning. I work with cients insurance needs post retirement, most that don't have a schedule of something to do, an agenda if you will, end up back at it within a year. On his second attempt at retirement one fella said he was going to give himself a job of retiring, over the course of the year he slowly broke from his "retirement schedule" and it was a more secure feeling and he said he didn't have any anxiety or angst about not having something to do. It is a shock to a working person's mental state to not have something demanding on your time. Have fun.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.

Retired the first of the year and haven't regretted one single minute of it. Nice to fish during the week or whenever the weather is nice . I just wish some of my fishing buddies were retired so that I would have someone to tag along.

I worked for a great company and boss and was allowed to wind down a day at a time over 8 months. At first I did not like being home and neither did the wife. By the time I got down to two days a week I was ready to not work at all. I think that really helped. I am getting use to it so far and the agenda is fully planned by the wife. Can't use the excuse that I have to work anymore.

Worse thing I found out about retiring is I don't get anymore vacation days or paid holidays off............

Day two of week two and all is well. Finally getting used to not going to work after all those years. Buddy and I are planning a trip to Truman so that will be fun. As far as retirement I highly recommend it.
