Default Daily Lake of the Ozarks Report?

When I call the Lake of the Ozarks Daily Report 573-365-9205 their water temperature reading is always 4 to 8 degrees higher than what I get on my electronics or what an internet site says. I fish near the dam so idk why their temp varies so much from other readings. Anyone know why?

Which dam. If up by Truman and they are running water they would be putting cooler water in.

Temp today at lower side of Truman was 38-39° on the surface. When they
run water it pulls from deep water of Truman and will be a little warmer than
the surface water until it has a spring turnover.

Its because their reading is taken at around 3' down if I remember correctly. It's usually about 5 degrees higher for me during the winter and late fall
