Default Truman Lake area "Burger and Beer"???

What do you guys think about having a get together like the Smithville area guys have? I made it to one of theirs and had a great time. We have a new restaurant here in town called Mallard's that has an area I believe we could reserve for an evening that would accommodate a bunch of us. Jeff and Ed's favorite the Golden Corral may also have an area that could seat us. I was thinking a weekday evening and start gathering around 6'ish. What's everyone's thoughts???

I've gotta throw this out there for laughs...... I would drive 4 hours to eat a steak from the "Z Bar" (unfortunately it burnt down) or for frog legs from Ripper's!

    Man, I miss that area....

Mallard's make a pretty good mushroom burger! I used to go to Ripper's on Friday evenings after work for them frog legs. Most Saturday mornings were rough after them nights.

We always have Short Street in Montrose for prime rib but would have to be on a Friday or Saturday evening.

Yeah.... Always made feeling the "thump" a bit more difficult the next day. First (and only) time I ever fished a CrappieMaster's under the weather was due to an evening at Ripper's.

Rippers put the hurt on many a fisherman, we got rained off the lake one night... (I'll tell this story at the gathering... )(It involves Vienna Sausages and wimmen folk, magic markers, puking, and hypothermia.)

I'm in for any of the mentioned areas. Never been to Mallards, Short Street keeps my debit card on file, anywhere a fella can lie, drink, eat, and laugh ought to work, that leaves out GC.

Mallard's is a new place here at the edge of town. Great food, nonsmoking, rustic lodge themed décor and has a bar. It would be my suggested place if doing a weekday. If a Friday or Saturday not sure they would have room for all of us and Short Street may be a better place. When would we want to plan this for??
