Might want to post this in Ask the Conservation Agent Rod Buster. I don't have any idea about legalities, ask my wife.
Being new to the form I'm sure this has come up here before I've been putting beds in Truman for 25 yrs not sure if it's even legal I know you can't cut trees on corps ground or state parks but you can collect dead wood we started dragging dead cedar tree and weighing down with rocks are there any written regs on beds or info out there

The fishing was so good I thought it was yesterday
Mo Wildlife Code Reg-1970vicn states: Any member of the group known as Crappie.com, CDC, or any other form of the same group who puts brush piles into those Missouri lakes that allow said activity, shall make known to all other members the GPS coordinates of said brushpiles and/or fish attractors by posting coordinates in the Missouri sub-forum "Missouri Fishing"
Glad to help you stay legal!!
I with Vic! It's not illegal to drop brush just illegal to fish the brush you drop but thanks for the spots!
We always figgered if ya dint get cahhhht it were legil. I guess ya could always tell'm that tree fell on the boat an had to get off cus it were sinkin mah boat.
Really thats a question for the Corps of Engineers. My experience is that if you ask you probably won't like the answer.
I always tell the corp when I am putting in brush piles, and they have me mark on there map where I placed it, sure I mark on one arm and put it in another, never did figure out where I was at..........just can't read there map......
Ohhhhh.......you wanted a serious answer.....well each lake is "managed", some by the state, some by the Corps of Engineers, some maybe local. To find the answer you will need to contact the Truman manager. The best way to get an answer would be to post this in the "Ask the Biologist" sub-forum. The lake managers for several lakes monitor this forum, and if they don't know the specific answer, one of them will give you the info you need to get the proper answer.
(but you still have to send us the coord's)
Smithville, for example, doesn't allow individuals to place brush piles, but does have a "habitat improvement" program that many CDC'ers like to help with. Good luck.
