Default Mustang self/water activated life jacket

been looking at the rearming canister, seems like they are expensive, like 72 dollars , and I can buy a new in the package vest for 199.00, looks like the best deal is to buy new, any of you ever had any experience with the rearming kit?..would like to hear your story.

if they are never activated, how long can you trust the canister. I've had mine for 2 yrs now.

Cartridges have a date printed on them. Good for 5 years. I activate mine and repack it when I change the cartridge. Always check the date on it when you buy one.

look online you can usually find them cheaper. Amazon has the for $27. it depends on your model vest though there are a few different versions. post up what model vest you have I'm sure it can be had for less than that!

    Snickering :D
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

We use the Mustangs here at work. I have replaced the cartridges when we tested/used them, its not difficult. I certainly wouldn't pay $200 just to get a new one unless something is wrong with the old PFD. BTW the first cartridge replacement took about 30 minutes, however once I read the instructions it went pretty quickly.

Beagle I have the AIM vests from BP and have had to rearm before and if I can do it you can too. And yes I had one deploy after a rain when it was hanging in the sun to dry. Scared the begesuss ou of me. Like they said before Check the date on the kit when you buy it.
    Good luck. dfar
