If I were closer, I'd be happy to help you out. Good luck
We bounced over a submerged treetop in some heavy chop this afternoon. Limped back to Bucksaw (were almost straight across from it), and pulled it out to check. I can see a tiny bit of wobble in the shaft , and it started a lower unit tick right at the boatramp, so I'm guessIng the seals are also are out and it is done for the weekend. We still have a trotline out about 2mi upstream from Bucksaw.... Now Looking for a ride from somebody tonight or in the morning to pick it up, if anyone is still hanging around the area. Teach your kids to hunt and fish and you won't have to hunt for your kids !!

Found some fishermen and their boys camping near us and they were kind enough to go pick up the trotline for us. Had 6 cats on 18 hooks, including about a 40lb flathead, which I was happy to donate to them, as their young boys were so excited about it. Got packed up and headed out just before the storms hit.
Man that's awesome found help and donated fish to them what a guy. You didn't waist fish by leaving line and gave them to helpful people. HATS OFF
what kind of motor is it i have a good lower unit for a yammahammer . .your luck was bad but your fishing sounds good
DD, those boys were about 7 or 8, and I think that was the biggest fish they'd ever seen.... I bet they had a fun time cleaning it. Would have been cool to see their faces pulling it up off the trotline !
thank you for making sure your line was out of the water! most guys would have just went home. heck lots of liners just leave em in anyways. makes a bad name for other trot liners. and those boys are probably still grinning from ear to ear from catching a toad flattie, you probably made their summer! like Day Dreamer said, my hats off to ya!
Yes. Glad the lines got taken out. Saw a few on the Missouri last weekend that weren't tagged. Wish more of them would get caught not tagging lines. A couple of weeks ago some one had put lines in the local conservation lake that has pole & line fishing only. Not the first time we have saw lines in there. But this time they were really brave and had yellow noodles tied to them.
Sorry to hear about the prob bud! Glad someone was willing to help you out. I bet that fish made their fishing season! Well done on your effort to keep the waters clear and safe for others as well as not allowing the fish to go to waist and donating. I will shake your hand once we meet bud!
