Ranger 89
I have a 1990 481v and both pumps are in the rear under a black plastic panel, but both my livewells are in the rear. A real PITA
to work on b/c you have to stand on your head to get to them.
I have a 1989 ranger 371v, single console. My front livewell quit working and I would like some help in locating the pumps. Have heard underneath livewell and also under batteries in the rear. Could be the switch. I checked the fuse first. I posted on mechanics corner already. Any help would be appreciated.

Thats what I kinda figured. I think I might just drop it off at Anglers port and let them stand on their head. I just dont like writing that check. I am not even sure it is not just the switch. Thanks for the reply.
Most pumps are cartridge type. Push down on locking tab, twist to the left a quarter turn and viola, it's out. Insert new cartridge, twist to lock, connect wires, done.
you can check the switch....pull the wires from both switches and swap them. If the problem moves to the rear livewell, it's the switch, if the front pump still doesn't work then it's the pump
Brian when is the last time you caught a fish to put in that front livewell? I hear of a huge catch your wife had. Tammy seen the pics of the rescue. Just take it to Anglers Port and trade the dang thing in on a new aluminum Ranger with a warranty. Then you only have to right one check instead of all the little checks when stuff goes wrong.
I am wanting to retire, not create some bills that will keep me working any longer than I have to. Once the wife quits we are out of here for sandy beaches, sunny skies and hurricane insurance.
You will need a saltwater boat then. Get her retired. I am ready to come fish the coastal waters with ya.
I have an 89 363v and my pumps are in the bilge area back up underneath the rear seat area. Dang near gotta be a triple jointed Chinese acrobat to get to them. Good luck!
