The lake is surrounded by a lot of corp land that has Turkey everywhere. I would get me a map and pick a spot to start and take boat in and make some calls. I hear turkeys all the time while fishing.
I would like to turkey hunt around truman lake. I would like to use boat and get to an area that holds allot of turkey.
I also would like to go to Talley bend to hunt but can go other places on the lake also. Is Talley Bend a god idea for a hunt as far a good place to go? Any ideas would be appreciated. Is there a place to stay other than camping at Talley Bend area. How about Oceola? Thanks ahead of time for any info.

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
I know around Bucksaw there is a bunch, last week I was fishing the back of this cove and a big tom and a hen came down to the waters edge and he put on a heck of a show. Might have to pay him a visit this weekend.
Lots of good places. I go in by boat as well. I checked out google maps and picked a spot well away from roads so I could avoid other hunters as much as possible. Good luck!
From what I know about it, I wouldn't do it.

The key to that comment is "from what I know about it".... Getting up early, sitting on the cold ground, clucking and gobblin in a foreign language, walking miles and miles through briars, tics and chiggers... nope... "I" wouldn't do it. Good luck. I sure see lots of them horny birds on the bank of Truman every time I go fishing.
