Default time to change my trolling batteries

so I have a question for ya'all who like to work out your batteries. as far as run-time between charges is concerned, are group 31 Rv deep cycles worth the extra money and weight, compared to a standard group 27? (I am told there's no group 29????)
I had blue-tops. like them but the run time seems short these days, tested them and one of them is done. so I have decided to go back to lead acid, just getting Napa brand since my pops works there and I'm gonna get the good guy deal.....

I use 27s and have yet to run them dead on even the windiest day. But I also run a 36 volt system so that may have some bearing on it. I do believe 31s are quite a lot heavier?
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

I run 27's currently and don't have a bit of trouble staying all day. I drift when there is a breeze, so normally I run the big motor more than the tm anyway. I can't spider rig into the wind. Don't catch anything for the waves slapping the boat and its more than my nerves can bear. Lol

well, thanks for the advice folks, but I made my purchase today. I bought the 31's, I compared the weight of the 31 vs. the 27 and there was only about 10lbs difference and 30$ extra per battery. as much as I troll crankbaits and drift for catfish, I thought I might regret not buying the slightly bigger batteries. now I have all 3 batteries new for the season and ready to go! all I need now is some time off and some water!
