    Default Kite flying

My boy has been on me about flying a kite lately so after getting two stuck in trees we had a idea! If you got kids this is a hit we tied the kite to a fishing pole and went out in the boat and idled along with the kite behind the boat it was cool!Name: image.jpg

LOL that's some good thinking. Bet he had a blast
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

teach your kid to make his own kites out of the tongues and groves on lumber. make the cross and notch the ends of the sticks and put the string round the sticks. then use news paper for the kite and flour and water for the glue and make the tail out of scrap rags. we made our own long ago. when someone was building a house we'd be there to get the tongues and groves they would cut off the boards.

Same thing I was doing with nephews on the HOA lake. Catfish rods, 30# test, man those 6' wide kits were dots in the sky. Getting them down was a chore. Good times, now they are into girls and cars.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.

We did it with our old zebco 33 classic's back in the day. But never did it in the boat. I bet he had a blast.
