Long, long, ago (70's), I worked for a company that made the bouys.
Back then you could get a reward for turning in lost bouys.
You should check, you might be able to get money and a tv show.
They need to go through and get there bouys. Them things are scattered all over the banks, stuck in log jams and floating behind dykes. Plus some of the ones till in the river you can't trust as to the location.

ya you cant trust the bouys anymore. I navigate by the day beacons on the banks and when I come across a hazard in the channel I mark it as a waypoint on the gps.
I wish they still paid for the bouys, I know there is about 30 just along washington that are washed up on the dikes and banks.
