Default Stripers or Hybrids on Table Rock?

Anyone fish for them on the Rock? I've always wanted to, but never really had the equipment until recently so want to try it this year, so any advice on where the best spots to go would be appreciated. I fished near the Dam a few times last year and think I was seeing Stripers on the locator between 75 and 100 fow.

Neighbor had a yard sale this weekend and I picked up a Cannon Easi-Troll downrigger with weight for a buck! It seems to work fine, but needs the base to mount it on the boat

Thanks JL was hoping I could spend at least one day at camp, but it just wasn't to be this year
I know the Rock has at least a small population of Stripers and Hybrids, but never fished for them and want to try this year. I just need to learn a few tricks to improve my chances

Lived in that area for 30 years and not aware of stripers or hybrids. Heard isolated reports over the years on the extreme upper end of the lake near Beaver dam but have no personal experience and no way to verify one way or the other. There is a catchable population of white bass and some jumbos at times in the 3-4 lb range taken on the lower part of the lake. 2008 was a good year for guys vertical fishing spoons early in the day close to the dam during July and August. 2009 didn't produce results the same way although lots of smaller ones up lake a bit between the dam and Kimberling City last year.

arkansas record came from below the dam on beaver lake, friend of mine from shell knob caught a huge striper close to beaver town. I never heard of a striper being caught past eagle rock. never heard of a hybird either. big white bass but no hybirds, anyway where i fish on tablerock. good luck on your search

Look for the balls of shad and big arches below them on the graph when they are deep and try topwater at dawn and dusk .

Thanks TNR. Have you found them anywhere besides the dam area? I would think the Hybrids would make a spawning run up the James along with the Whites, but haven't heard of any being caught.
I've caught some nice Stripers in the San Joaquin Delta in California, but it's a whole new ball game on these land locked fish. Out there you watch for the Seagulls diving on Shad, you sneak up and cast or drop a jigging spoon or a deep running large crank bait and hang on!

I have not fished for them on Table Rock yet ,but the pattern holds true on many waters I have fished that hold stripers and hybrids . Find the baitfish and they won't be far below. They should be near the top in May.

Last Summer I never seen so many Whites! Went near the Dam several times and Whites were everywhere! You could fish one school and see 5 to 10 other schools busting the surface. You could run from Moonshine Beach to the Island South of the Branson Belle and see schools everywhere, even over 100 feet of water!
I just picked up a downrigger, so will try trolling a big crankbait for them this year. I would guess they are cruising under the Whites looking for an easy meal
