    Post Rust

Was in the garage tonight going over things on the boat, getting ready to go. Checked the air in the tires as always but for some reason decided since I have never had a flat tire I would check the lug nuts holding the spare to the bracket on the trailer. Good gosh what a surprise, they were totally rusted, would not budge. Got the electric impact out, still wouldnt budge. Had to get the breakover bar with a piece of pipe extension to get them loose.:D Finally came loose, got them off and lubed them up. Then I decided to back off the lug nuts on the trailer wheels since its been forever since they were off---- same stuff--- got them loose finally and lubed them also. Sure was glad I was in the garage and not on the side of the road somewhere with just the good old lug wrench and 100 degree weather is usually when that stuff happens. Just food for thought-- you might want to check----

Thanks for posting. Things like that often go unnoticed until the worst possible moment like you mentioned

    O' Reillys has three varieties

    Permatex; Versatec & Loctite.

Look at the label. Don't pay extra for the high temp. stuff for lug nuts.
