The MS 150 used to go in front of my parents farm. I can tell you that although these events may bring economic stimulus to some, to others its a hassel and big expense. People thought the barn, and everything in it, was open to the public. They left trash, destroyed the garden, and were generally disrepectful of other peoples property and sited "were doing this for charity can't you understand?" as an excuse.

This race is no different and if it had such potential to bring in big money then why aren't there more corporate sponsors? If there is a reasonable chance to make money on it then private enterprise would get involved. Otherwise its just middle america subsidizing people who either don't need it, or won't earn it.
Remember, its the second mouse that gets the cheese.

They just said the bike race will go on as planned. Love it or hate I think everyone is entitled to enjoy their favorite sport.

My cousins have a farm in Iowa and there's an event that goes by their farm every year and they have to spend a lot of time cleaning up after the idiots that leave their trash behind.
I agree with Bigby. Everyone has a right to enjoy what they enjoy. But I'm sided with CrappieFreedom on how it's okay to enjoy something as long as it's not subsidized by others that don't enjoy it, care about it or benefit from it.
