Default OSS: It was bad but i am very lucky........

I would put this in "OFF TOPIC" but u know screw that, I sure think I have many, many new friends. I can't tell you how many tissue's I went through reading all the reply's u have posted, my sister n law printed them off and brought them to St. Joseph Hospital for me to read, thank every single one of you for the post. :"Why it was Bad" Tests revealed only 1/2 of my heart was operating. At one time 03:45 am Wed at Clinton Hospital while in ICU my heart rate dropped to 26 and that is scary low, so they shipped me via ambulance to St. Joe's at KC Furter test showed no blockage so I had to have a pace maker put in. Now "Lucky" if I hadn't checked out my blood pressure even though I was feeling great I could have easily had the big on the next day or very soon......Just got home everything went great and I now have a 70+ heart rate... I have even more to pray for now... Bad news, with a pace maker I can no longer ever weld or be around welding machines....Beagle Man I sure liked your poem.....I can't go fishing or drive for about 4 weeks, below is two pictures the first one is my sweetie "Mrs OSS aka (Donna) and the 2nd pic is my sister n law Carol, these two were with me at all times and made a bad situation not so bad, thank both of you, And Mrs. OSS I just might keep u around for another 40 years..... God Bless every one of you for my friends I have been blessed...... Story Part 2 in Off Topic.....

Great news Monty! You will be back slinging slabs in no time. Take it easy for a few weeks and do what the docs say and you will be better than ever.

Well, I'm glad you paid attention and got the help you needed when you did! Glad you didn't join me in the heart attack club!

Darn shame about the welders though... kinda like taking the paintbrush away from Michelangelo.

Glad to hear your ok and glad to hear you caught it early. My grandpa had the same kind of situation except he had a mild heart attack. They told us he probably wouldn't leave the hospital alive. That was 5 years ago and he is more active and than he was before. Those pace makers/diffibulators are a wonderful thing!

Hey Good Buddy, Don't think for a minute that you'll never weld again. I have several friends that have pace makers and they do just about everything, and My Brother is a Heart Transplant and pacemaker he still welds and builds Hot Rods He's 64 Just Hang tough and you'll do just Great.. Glad to hear you're Home
