Not sure either throw them all back and eat more chicken.
I just wondered if anyone can shed light on this question.....we went to Truman this weekend and did ok - details will be on a different thread. What I am wondering is this....one of the fish we cleaned had a lot of specks in the meat - almost looked like blood spots. I am used to finding one or two specks in a filet - but this one had probably 10-12 - almost looked like it had chicken pox. I asked Richard Bowling and also GoneFishee (Ed) at the Crappie Master weigh in yesterday and neither one acted like they had a clue what I was talking about. I guess when in doubt we could throw the filets away.

I caught a basket of bluegill some years back. A man told me to throw them away they had worms. I never fillet'd them but the out side looked like that.
cork'n crappie
As many as Sue catches Gary I would pitch those. Can't recall ever seeing any like that.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, rather to skid in sideways, body used up and totally worn out screaming 'WOO~HOO what a ride!'
Dont think I would take any chances you can always go catch some more.
Sounds and looks like a parasite. Found the same thing in perch years ago in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Back then we talked to a game warden the first time we ran into this, and he said they were harmless, just be sure not to eat the fish raw and they would 'cook up' and would not be noticeable, but here is a link I found:

the trick to catch that finnicky speck....
gently set the hook just before the peck
Interesting, I'm not sure what it is but I wouldn't eat them!

I had one like that before and it was worms. I did not eat the fish, I actual found one of the worms.
Mmmmmmmmmm, worms.
