Sorry I can't help as I'm from the other side of the state but welcome to the board from Metro KC!
Greetings Everyone! I have "stalked" the crappie message boards off and on for quite some time and have learned quite a bit from many of you! I must say that it is nice to see such a supportive group of folks.
I am in Illinois and last year traveled to Mark Twain lake 3 times in the fall last year and did "OK" on two of the trips. Planning on fishing that lake quite a bit this year and am getting the itch to get out SOON! (like many of us I am sure!)
I am going over March 10th through the 13th (probably a bit premature but I'm off work that week and really could care less if I catch anything but would be nice if I did...) Any tips/tricks you folks could give me regarding March crappie fishing on Mark Twain would be great... I have heard to only fish the north coves on the lake etc... I would love to have your input!
Thanks So Much! :D

I've only fished mark twain during the spawn...
For Shallower water fishing in march I would fish rock banks (sunlight heats up rock)
Also it will be probably be windy... find where the wind is blowing aginst cover / rock
For deeper water find areas probably between 18-12 feet with submerged cover.
Be sure to use jig colors according to water conditions Mark Twain can get really muddy.

Wish I could help but I'm from the southern part of the state. I'm sure some of the guys on here will help you out. P.S. Welcome to the board.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, rather to skid in sideways, body used up and totally worn out screaming 'WOO~HOO what a ride!'
Welcome TP, from Springfield!

Welcome from Truman Lake. Not much help from me up that way. We have a few that fish Twain on a regular basis who will help you out.
Make sure you keep your battery charged! You will probably be fighting the wind all day! If you are afraid of rough water....oh well! That lake does get rolling! I wish I had some fishing tips for you....but I'm lost till the water warms up a little.
