I've had some neoprene gloves in the past. I had gotten them for picking up decoys in cold weather. My hands stayed dry, but they got cold in a hurry. I think it was because the gloves were too tight, I don't know. I do know that I won't own another pair of them. Wool gloves are the best for staying warm when wet, but they are quite a bit thicker than jerseys.

I bought 2 sets of neoprene gloves for gigging and they just didn't work out. They kept our hands dry but got very cold. I kinda thought it might be from sweat. Most of the time we use gore tex to gig with, then a dry pair to run the motor with. With gigging the heavy gloves isn't a problem unlike crappie fishing.

I do the jerseys. There is very little I can do with gloves on. Neoprene are fine until the first time you take them off then you are done. Hands get cold and never warm back up. The problem is I can't tie a jig on with them so I have to take them off. Jerseys with handwarmers for me. If it gets to cold with them it is time for the fireplace and some Johnny Walker!

I also keep several pairs of the jersey gloves on board and use the chemical handwarmer packets in them.

When running down the lake I like these gloves where the neoprene is only on the palm side of the gloves so there is not the problem with the build up of sweat inside the gloves.

Were do you put in Dave? I have not been in years. Use to go several times a season when Griffy was younger. We had a blast, killed a boat load several times.

Hey Zip. I usually put in down at 89 bridge, its not far from where I live. I have put in at Pointers Creek, Linn, sometimes Paydown at my ex in-laws place. I have put in at Vienna and a few places other places. I think it closes Friday or Sat. night. Its a little late this year but if you want to go next year give me a holler, I'd be glad to take anyone that wants to go. Dave

Jerseys for me. I keep about 10 pairs in my boat at all times in the Winter months. When 1 pair gets wet, just put on another.

We should do it. You won't have to worry about me crying about 6 deg and a 9 mile wind out of the north with a little sleet and snow mixed in. CAUSE I AIN'T GOING that night. I will be busy washing my hair, and being babied by Audrey.:p
