Me and my 2 friends went out there last night. Fishing on the northside of the W-bridge. From 10PM-2AM all 3 of us caught 15 but only 3 were 9-11" LOL...
We didn't run into anyone out there either.

Just got back from Smithville... Fished from 8:30am to 1pm... Caught two 10" fish almost immediately... One tightlinging and one under a float... both in less than 4' of water... Thought " Wow! This is going to be a good day" ... But that was it... couple of bluegill and a couple more short crappie. Talked to a couple filleting fish... some with eggs... They said they caught them in 15' of water, 5' off the bottom... not in timber but along a drop off. 70 degree water in the back of some of the coves.
Most people seemed to have trouble finding the fish..

That means you gotta drop 10' below. damn, didn't know they're still in deep water. I'l try that this weekend.

Went again last night with better luck. Caught 15 and they were all big and fat as hell.

Buddy and his wife caught 25 keepers from the bank near Trimble Sunday morning.
I gave it a try today but had trouble finding the crappie. Got one bite shallow, wind shifted and everything stopped... no one catching anything in the cove I was in... Went across the lake (1st cove N of Sailboat cove)... lots of boats... wind shifted again... from the west... You could hear a little girl yell "Daddy, I got a fish!" Almost immediately I caught a keeper and a small one... (Tightlining timber 6' down in 15' of water)... Wind shifted again and things stopped.... Always someone catching though..
Two guys said they had 20 between them... Can't verify that.

Demonstrated my incompetence at the dock... Didn't back the trailer deep enough to launch... checked everything... yes, all the straps were loose (I've done THAT too)..
Got back in the truck and backed up another couple of feet... and watched my boat start to float away.... Good thing the water has warmed... Had to drive around to "air dry"... DUH....
