It's a 2 man Pond Prowler from Bass Pro. I got it for a Father's Day present about 3 years ago. I love it and fish from it a lot on the CDC lakes around here. With the price of gas, I find myself fishing from it more and more. Just remember one thing....once you mount your transducer to your trolling motor, it goes where and when the trolling motor does. That is why I chose to mount mine to the bracket instead. There are times when I don't need or want the fish finder. Good luck and let us know what you decide to do.

Ok, I'm dense but, unless you plan to use the sonar without the boat, would you want to remove the transducer unit? It doesn't increase the draft of the boat when mounted on the trolling motor. There is less clutter in the boat, you can get a combo transducer/temp sensor (which further reduces clutter) and you DON'T have to remember to raise it when you beach the boat (unless you forget to raise the trolling motor).

I agree that the Humminbird 565 seems to offer a few more features than the Lowrance 480... and, judging by reviews on Bass Pro and Cabela's websites, the customer service is better. You might check out 3 Rivers Marine Electronics... They will swap transducers so you can have either transom or trolling motor mounts with temp included in the 'ducer puck or separately. Haven't used them myself but the Bass Fishing Home page is full of rave comments about them. They will also quote a lower price on the phone than they are allowed to post on their site.

    .
I have a portable for pond jumping and for rented boats on fishing trips.

I have the Fishmark 320 it is a nice unit for the cost. It is kinda difficult to use sometimes, but a all around nice unit.
