I haven't been since last week. Anybody fished Smithville lately? I am thinking of heading out in the morning so I would see which direction I should go.

When in doubt, set the hook.
Me too. Going Friday morning and, maybe, tomorrow evening.
Good luck to you guys, give a report.

Haven't been out but once in the last 10 days, and that was for flathead at the spillway.I'm no help.Good luck.
Went Friday evening 5-8pm... kept one 10" fish... released a couple of "nearly legal" fish.
Slipfloating minnows near shore and in channels. Slow. Only legal fish was 3' down, on timber in 5' of water. Gary Burton (at the tackle shop) said he knew one guy who was catching shallow fish near the swimming beach very early in the morning. Also said they aren't on main lake points yet.
Gonna try it again in the morning if it's not storming.
It rained... AFTER I bought 25lbs of ice for all the crappie 4 of us would catch

I hit the spillway about 7a.m.,got a 25# on my third cast, not another hit for 2 hours.Switched to liver and had a 4# channel before I got my 2nd rod out, then nadda??
Switched over to trotlines. So far after 2 days we've had a 48,49,36,20# flatheads, 10# blue, and 4 little channels.
