    Regarding checks......
Sure I let the officers check my boat and livewell. I'm quite cordial. You can ask Barndog. I don't want anymore of my hard earned resources stolen through another form of taxation. I'm non confrontational with the wardens and water patrol. Most of them don't know that they violate one of the laws they take an oath to uphold.

The incident that left a bad taste in my mouth happened when I was 20.
I was accused of drinking beer below Evergreen spillway. The warden had me walk a mile back to my truck to check for evidence. None was found as all I had was my rod and my tackle. I didn't take anything, including soda, with me. Drove up to the lake after work one evening and this feller took 1 hr out of the limited daylight I had to work with. This guy has a long record of harassment. Public servant my thigh. Public nuisance is what he is. I'll pray for him tonight that he sees the light or is retiring or has retired.

You made a good point. The founders set up the tax collection system as they did because they knew the greatest society would be founded on the basis that a man can keep the fruits of his own labor. I only pay because I'm coerced. As I'm sure is the only reason everyone that reads this pays theirs as well. Never met a person that was really happy about how their stolen money was being spent by their Government.

Crappiecatcher06 has a good point about Louisiana. Seems like the farther South you go, the less laws exist regarding marking fish, number of poles.....the list goes on.

I'm okay with your opinion Twainer.
If you notice, no personal attack was made.

Just pointed out how I view these inspections.
I don't expect to change your opinion of their benefits nor do I expect you to change my view of them until Section 15 is repealed or rewritten.

I do understand I'm in the minority. Liberty is very unpopular these days.

Kit, haven't researched it but my guess is that your "consent" trumps your "without oath or affirmation" position. Read the small print at the bottom of your fishing license.

I fish MTL around 3 times a week. Have met all of the water patrol agents around. They are good people once they get to know you. That goes for most of the Conservation people too. That is except for a certain female agent who just started last summer who feels she needs to assert her authority.

Was at 107 boat ramp about 7:50 am and the launch ramp was backed up clear to the fish cleaning station. Seems this agent took it upon herself to check every boat for fishing licenses while they were trying to launch and not permitting the ones without licenses to do so.

There are many other instances where I have seen that they like to prey upon the older boats more then the newer ones. This disturbs me on many levels because I feel as though the look upon me as a lower class citizen and that because of that I am breaking they law. They will ride though a cove passing several bass boats and pull up on the jon boats and V bottoms just to check things out.

Guess my venting is over for now, baby sitting my 2 month old with nothing better to do. LOL

I stand corrected. You are right. Missouri has their bases covered.

I never noticed it there. I don't have a leg to stand on.

    Thanx Mike!

How about safety checks? Are they covered somewhere as well?

I got checked on Enid at the State Park boat ramp 2 years ago. After the conservation agent checked my license and livewell, we started B.S.ing a little and he wound up giving me some places to fish for the next morning. Absolutely slayed them. I ran into him again 2 days later and thanked him for the info. He asked what they could do to get me to stay a few days longer.

Of the times we have been checked we have never had a problem. They have always been nice and courteous. And not noisey at all. But we always try to have everything that the law requires. We always keep our fish separated. Been checked twice on MTL without a problem. was checked 1 time on the Missouri by a new guy and he floated by us for a while chatting. he hust had us hold up our license and didn't even really look at them. He was new to the area and asked several ?'s about the area. I am glad to see them out on the water. I just wish they could put a stop to all the speed racers on the water no matter what they are in. They should stay out on the main lake and not tear around in the creek channels where people are trying to fish. Have heard a few of them hit trees that are barely under the water because they don't know where the channel is and they go tearing through wherever. Have to laugh when that happens.

Default Love to fish in Mo. but........

I can`t keep up with all the rules that you don`t see in other states.I do know Mo. collects more money for wildlife and fisheries than a lot of other states,I guess with all these employes they have to have something to do.What I don`t understand is the limit of 15 on crappie, with the huge man made lakes that are deep , clear, have good water quality and have unknown billions shad and other bait fish the relatively small crappie fishing community could never in 100 years effect the crappie population in these huge res.I don`t claim to be a fish biologist or anything but I would like to see some documented proof that such a low limit helps the numbers or size of Mo. crappie. I think it hurts,I just got back from a week on Truman and the LOZ had a great time and caught 50 to 60 keepers a day,I did not keep but just a few for a small fish fry but it sounds like I might have broken some regulation I hope not.Missouri is a beautiful state with some outstanding fishing destinations I hope to visit again soon. Just a thought from a south La. Man.....Tknight
