    Thumbs up LOZ slabs

Got into some nice crappie on Friday-two limits were kept. The clearing water has helped to get the fish going here along with the more stable weather. Water temp was 65 to 67 where we were fishing. We caught them in 2 to 10 foot of water. Of the 15 shown only 2 were black crappie, the rest of them being whites. All but 2 of the 15 were full of eggs, mostly bloody and mushy, some egg sacs still being firm. Fish ranged from 11 to 13 inches and were caught with variety of jigs and colors. The fish were not picky!

Saturday's cooler air and bluebird skies slowed them down for us. Did catch and release a 13" smallmouth that looked full of eggs.

Hope the pics are okay as I am going through Photobucket (with the help of some of my good crappie.com friends!) Husker

Thanks for the comments guys. Caught 'em in the Big Niangua arm, find brush or any other cover and you find the fish. Yesterday, catch and release only, they were a lot harder to catch, late afternoon seemed like the bite stopped almost completely! But they shall return!
