Welcome everyone. As most of the old timers on this site knows my name is Duane and I live in the Rolla area. I was employed till last month with Briggs & Stratton Corp.. Till they moved this plant to CHINA. Now I am unemployed and looking forward to the spring fishing season. Have not fished much the past 2 years while going though a divorce and this plant closing. My fishing partner moved to FL also & my dad is getting older and does not fish much now. He had a great time at Crappie Camp '06. they all spoiled him that week.

I fish from a 2001 G3 Pro 170 with a 40 yamaha. My ex gave me the name CrappieHead. Said I would rather crappie fish than have ***. At the end she was right.

    Default First time

Lifelong Missouri resident except four years living in Eastern Iowa next to the Mississippi River. Initially I thought would be of no use at all but fell in love with fishing the big ole girl, most underrated body of water in my opinion anywhere near here for walleye, bass, crappie, and white bass. If you like to fish jigs and light tackle always something that will yank on your line. Downside is the high, muddy periods during spring and early summer which I never figured out. From Labor Day to Thanksgiving I'd as soon fish it as any place I've been.

We returned to Missouri due to job commitments in August. Like others, my fishing was consumed with primarily the green finny types and a fair number of tournaments until 10 years ago. I crappied some during winter months on LO, TR, BS, Stockton, Pomme all the way from the late 70s into the early part of this decade and that is probably my strongest suit, assuming I have a strong suit. Since returning to this area in late summer have found myself smitten with chasing crappie and Good Lord willing don't plan on slowing down. Only thing is this work thing which gets in my way a lot.

Luckily, I'm married to the most giving and caring creature on the face of the planet. Inherited six grandchildren with my first biological due in the next few days. Employed in the marine business and know some about boats. If you ever want an objective opinion or looking for free advice on boats, motors, dealers, etc. don't hesitate to contact me. I don't charge for this service because first of all no one would be silly enough to pay and secondly if I'm wrong then I can say its worth exactly what you paid for it. And please don't ask me to be too specific about my job and brand affiliation because I'd like to keep it all arms length, I'm not on here to further business interests but only to exchange info with people that like to fish. You'll find me in a 18' tiller deep V which is somewhat unusual for this region but its a remnant of my Iowa days and still haven't swapped it out. What will you find me fishing in next? Not always sure and it can change frequently at times.

Have watched Crappie.com regularly since finding it early in the fall. Been considering registering, this thread prompted me that its time to try to give a bit instead of always being on the receiving end.
