My name is Dewayne and I live on Stockton directly across from Cedar Ridge boat ramp. My nickname since I was a kid has always been Sonny, so it has kinda stuck over the years.
I'm a supervisor for UPS Freight and lived North of Smithville till five years ago when I was lucky enough to get a transfer to Springfield.
I am 36 years old and fish Stockton mostly (for the obvious reason) , but get to Truman and Pomme a few times a year...Planning this year to get up to Truman more than the past few so I may run across some of you that spend alot of time up there.

I'm on Stockton alot so if you see me come over and introduce yourself..I'll be in a silver '08 Lowe Stinger 175 with a 75 Opti and I usually trailer it with a lifted white Ford...I fish alot in the winter time around the State Park area so I'm sure I've run across some of you in the past.

    Later,
    Sonny

Looks like I never posted to this thread somehow, so better late than not at all.

My name is Brent and I moved to O'Fallon in 2004 from Columbia where I got my doctorate in animal physiology. I fished Mark Twain, Thomas Hill and the local lakes around Columbia when I lived there and started crappie fishing quite a bit. I worked in the An. Sci dept. and was a lab manager when working on my degree. Helped on a lot of beef and dairy cattle repro work and got my name on a lot of journal articles- but the jobs in that area weren't very appealing.

I now work for a BioPharma Services company in the Weldon Springs area just south of Highway 40 (Missouri Research Park). I work with big pharma companies with a lot of diabetes, Alzheimer's, osteoporosis and anti-infective types of drug candidates. It is decent and steady/growing work, but the clients can be unreasonable and very demanding at times. I like the pace of the work in industry better than at the University- it is faster paced, better pay, and you see your work product result in the market place to help people's quality of life.

I grew up in Pike County (Bowling Green area) and my sibs and I still own our family farm of about 640 acres total, so I get to go back and hunt, fish, do physical work a couple times a month. I fish Truman on occasion, but mainly fish Mark Twain for crappie in the spring and fall, bass in the summer and trout in the summer/fall- a few catfish here and there also. I'm going to try to hit the Cuivre Slough sometime this year (but I said that last year too and didn't get around to it). I fish out of a 2004 G3 HP180 with a 150 Yamaha VMax (got it this spring).

I like to long pole jig but use slip bobbers when the need arises. I try to stay away from minnows and I think I just about have all the gear I need...at least until next year, probably.

Hello - My name is Lisa, husband is Rich. We reside in St. Louis. I grew up in Mtn. Home, AR and we had a place on Bull Shoals and then started going to Norfork. My parents were both loved fishing and I thought it was child abuse! They would drag my brother and I out to the lake/river in cold of the winter with a coleman heater in the boat and a blanket. Anyway, I wanted no part of fishing! I married an avid fisherman from St. Louis and ended up going out in the boat with him with a book in hand. Slowly, I started making a few casts and then got hooked.

We mainly fish for crappie and blue gills when the crappie bit is slow. Twelve years ago, we started an annual fish fry in the fall at our home and normally have around 80 people.

I work during the week from home as an Affordability Consultant for a major insurance company and my husband is a Blues Musician. He fishes during the week and if I am lucky, he is off on a Sat and I get to go too.

We have a cabin in Ste. Genevieve county and there are 3 lakes in the community we fish. In addition, we go to Crab Orchard, the MDC lakes, Reelfoot on occasion, Lake Barkley in KY a few times, etc.

We currently have a a 16 ft fish and ski we are probably going to sell as my husband hates the boat and we never use anymore, an 8 ft pond prowler and a 14 ft horrible, leaking, uncomfortable jon boat. We are hoping to have another boat by this weekend!

Hi CDC members, My name is Ronnie wife Denese. We think more about fishing than we get to do. Live near Collins and spend our fishing time on Stockton, don"t catch as many fish as most but enjoy our time on the lake. Our boat is an old Lund 5.3 Tyee with a 115 Merc , The boat is red with CDC stickers on the side windshield. I"m a retired heavy equipment operator my wife works at a Dr office. If things workout want to put names and faces together at the camp meeting.

    Default Little Late

Never got this filled out so I figured with Camp coming up the end of this week I should say a little about myself.

I will be 36 this Friday and grew up in Nixa Missouri. Been married about six years now and have a three year old girl named Alexa. She is our pride and joy. I love to do anything that is outdoors, but Crappie fishing is one of my favorites. I have been in the Commercial Pipe, Valve and Fitting business for about 15 years now so I'm beginning to know what I am talking about. We now reside in Battlefield Missouri and I work in Springfield Missouri. I have really enjoyed being on CDC and talking with so many of you. Yeah, even you Beagle. :D

I spend most of my time fishing with HookedonFishin (Sam) who will be coming with me to Camp. We typically fish out of his boat and take my truck.

Probably overdoing the picture thing here but I always like seeing everybodies pictures so thought I would post up a couple.

    1. One of my better crappie caught on Bull Shoals about a month ago.
    2. Probably my best catch to date. Her name is Shelly.
    3. What I hope will replace Sam someday as my fishing partner. :D Just kidding Sam.
    4. This is my little ole boat so if you see me on the water be sure to say hello.

Thanks everybody, I'm having a blast on here.

Default Late but never to a fish fry!

Hello, my name is Dan, been married now for almost 7 years to Paula. We live in Springfield; I have a 25 year old stepson who is a Johnson County, Kansas, Sheriff’s Deputy. Born in Warsaw, MO over 49 years ago, raised in Kansas City, MO and call Preston, MO home. I was a Sales Rep for a Trash Company for 8 ½ years until November 2008 when they decided to cut their sales staff in half. I run cattle on my parent’s farms in Preston, and help out the folks as needed with the cattle and hay operations. Wife and I are also Pryotechs, we work for a company who does the fireworks at the Springfield Cardinals games and other area displays. Last year my crew and I shot the July 4th show for the city of Bolivar, MO.
I really got into Crappie fishing about 17 years ago while I was living on Pomme de Terre Lake. I started fishing docks and anywhere else I could find to fish. Then I had an elderly guy from Buffalo, MO who took me under his wing and started taking me out in a boat on Pomme. Ray was one of a kind, he taught me how to use all those different colors that I had purchased and when to use them. One day he told me that I needed my own boat. I told him that I didn’t know anything about a boat. He told me to come to his home that night south of Buffalo and he would teach me everything I needed to know. Little did I know Ray had set me up! He sold me his spare boat that night for $600.00, boat, trailer, motor, trolling motor and fish finder. Granted it was only a little 16 foot V bottom with a 9.9 Mercury, but to me is was just as good as a Ranger. I learned to fish for crappie day and night. I could smell crappie and always came home with some good keepers. I ended up having to sell the boat when I got divorced and moved to Springfield.
Last year Paula asked me what I was ever going to do with all those crappie jigs. I told her that I was going to one day buy a boat and start crappie fishing again. We started looking at different boats, every time I was in Bass Pro I would go look at the crappie model. Finally a family friend told me to go look at a Lowes. Last March we went to Nixa walked in and I fell in love. Paula and I purchased a Lowes 175 Crappie Stinger with a 50 hp Mercury. Paula agreed to the boat purchase only after I promised to be gone 30 weekends per year without her. I went out and purchased her a couple of Wally Marshall crappie rods & reels and a couple of Zebco rods & reels. Second trip out Paula hooked into a Muskie, then landed 4 nice keeper bass. Now she is taking care of my tackle bags and her own bag. Last Thursday below Truman dam she was taking her own crappie off the hook without using pliers.
Right now I am trying to relearn Pomme as all my old honey holes are no good anymore and learning what I can and can’t get away with on the boat. And I am trying to also learn Truman. Been on Stockton only a few times but I figure Pomme as my home lake with Truman taking a close 2nd place. Learning a lot from the great people on this website. Thanks for all your help!
