    Default Missed most of spawn

Went to two lakes at LSL and caught enough for a meal but not spawning currently. Gave them to neighbor so didn't clean them too see what eggs looked like but we're not bulging.

Oh well I s what happens when you have to choose with multiple lakes at same time.

Did ketch one big BG along with crappie.

BTW some folks have asked me about how I look for them when cool weather drives them off bank. I use small bobber and trout magnet few inches of line to work close to bank and vegetation. Then if not there take bobber off and start casting out farther bringing slowly back and try to find them. Usually they will move off bank and stage on brush or rocks or shelf. Once you pick up couple concentrate on that depth.

Caught a lot last week when cold front pushed them off bank.

Look like males to me. Tails don't look very beat up either. I'd guess it has not happened yet.

yep they do. but timing of spawn can be a guessing game and best to keep probing till you figure it out. tails don't look beat up and could be delayed. oh well if you keep your line wet you could suddenly come across KABOOM!

Could be late males that came up after the bulk have already spawned too, ive seen that happen before. I cant tell from pic but usually late males are on the smaller side, 9-10" and dont get to "party" so arent too beat up
