I’ve never been able to figure this out. I have 8 rods rigged exactly the same, yet some days a vast majority of the bites will come on one side or the other. It’s also common for one rod in a set of four will get hit over and over while the rod on either side see nothing. I honestly try to make sure the side I’m not on gets fish but I don’t know how to affect it. I’m sure a quartering wind will change things because one side of the boat will present 4 rods side to side while the wind will cause the opposite side to run in a line one after another through the same water. I could see it if you were in a channel and one side is on the drop off but in open water on a flat?
