Default Great day on couple lakes.

Got up at 5 thinking I was meeting my buddy, had my coffee and breakfast sandwich. Finished cleaning and put yesterday's ketch in freezer so I can give it to neighbors next visit. Then headed out to the area I know he has been hitting. Cold brisk morning with incredible view of milky way with no lights anywhere near the lake. Took a while for light but no buddy. Guess with cold decided to sleep in.

Started dipping and casting picked ip 4 nice fish but decided to head to different section of lake. Hit a dock I finished my limit on night before and immediately started ketchn nice solid fish. Spent 45 minutes dipping in 10 fow with blk/chartreuse 16th and orange chartreuse crappie magnet. Caught 7 more with several 11 to 12 inch fish on my new Shimano UL 6 ft rig.

Time to go hook up w buddy Charlie on his boat on a private lake. Not real big it can b productive
But conditions were rough mostly northern wind had replaced yesterday's southern strong one. P mm us it changing directions making Charlie have it tough.

Charlie likes minnows and on this lake some days it's what's fir dinner only. I pitched one of junglejimjigs Orange 16th jigs a d caught several but Charlie was ketchn more so added minnow trailer and I started ketchn more. I usually hesitate to use his jigs as too pretty to lose but little structure here.

We kept steady ketchn in 12 to 16 fow but crappie were shallow in from 2 to 5 feet. Charlie will go into bait store and if they have bunch dead minnows will give them to him. As we ran low he broke those out after sitting over n8ght, and we caught several of biggest fish of the day on them! I've always used my friends dead ones as trailers and always did well with them.

Finally it was noon and I had to head back STL for our monthly sm group church dinner. We kept 20 tossing quite a few dinks and even with stiff wind had a great time ketchn up with our lives.

Perfect finish to quick trip was called my son and he was excited to get my 5 Gallon bucket filled with crappie. Called his crew and were having a fry tonight. They love it when Pops brings them FRESH FILETS! PLUS my son is cleaning them now.

Great day 11 on one lake and about that many on another

thing is first day was bluebird but blustery winds making it cool. then second day wind came out of north around 9 30 and it was raw and tough to be out. But when you have limited time as I did you go anyway and I have had some really great ketchn days then. But don't blame the locals as they can come any time but is nice to have two different locations on one and then we were all alone on another. crazy thing is when they are still so high in water on such a day.
