Thread: Got the call so had to head north

When your buds are telling you bite is good you know I'm jumping into my old beater fishing car and heading north.

Of course did they wait for me to show up around 11? Oh no they were at the spot at daybreak and 3 guys had their limits quickly and left. When I started fishing Nothing was happening and was frustrating.

Worse I know where 5hese guys fish and I have a little spot they don't ever fish where I do well at. But while I made my way around lake to it I stopped and hit a backwater place they don't fish and I killed them at last year but NADA.

WHILE I WAS DOING that my HEART SANK as another guy moved over quickly around me and went to my other honeyhole spot. Then had to endure the torture of watching him ketch fish after fis. Had his limit quickly so I trudged around to there and took a while but caught 3 good ones.

Moved back to where a guy I knew was fishing to visit and ended ketchn 4 more. Time to go to my place turn heater on and then hit a dock I like. Getting over first cold I've had since covid so planning on relaxing once I got there. Turns out couple buddies who come up once a year from Jeff city were there so had to get out and visit.

They had 4 each when I got there, and while talking with them on this dock I caught 4 real nice ones and they caught several. Mid afternoon and tired si Decided to go home clean fish.

After that saw had hour of light left so headed back hoping to finish limit. Had area to myself and hooked a good one quickly but was off my game and lost 3 really good ones. Then caught bigun of day and then 3 more right at dark. Went home cleaned and now I'm worn out.

Called the wife she hasn't recovered from her cold but hoping we both get good nights sleep.

Back st it in morning but have to go home fir church dinner.
