Default Now for something completely different

Another nice day and had to go to sons house to pick up venison. Coming from his house takes me close to Busch wildlife where several lakes r stocked w trout so u know I had to stop there as even the catch and release lake where they had stocked thousands were open to keep.

Hit one where it was easy access and started throwing my trout lure. Made bunch of casts and had couple hits but no hookups. Pretty day and lake but only caught one small trout which I released.

Then just when I was ready to leave and about to make the famous ONE LAST CAST noticed dark spot in water so I tossed it past there and retrieving slowly saw flash of a trout who missed it. So tossed again but this time when in spot jiggled it and KABOOM happened. Hooked and landed a nice one. Did it again and BAM another good eater!

After putting that one bucket too tossed it one more time and BAM a 3rd good one struck and landed it.

Went and put on one of junglejimjigs on a new UL I bought just for trout but when I went back to rocks couldn't find dark spot. Instead of structure I thought it was turns out that was a pod of trout and they had moved away. Oh well after few casts decided 3 was good and headed for home.

Will make another great meal for my wife so that's good. Name: 20240215_171755.jpg

Believe you were giving those out to the MO spring camp back a few years when you, billbob and G came to the event. Year we were flooded out of usual camp area and had to find higher campsites.

Those are looking really good. Nice and fat. This year I'm going to try to smoke some of them.
