A buddy and i went thursday on the lower glaize and found them to be slow but would bite when you got around em they simply wasn't where they are supposed to be everything i found was setting off the ends of docks in the direct sunlight you would start catching them at 6' and after you caught a couple they would drop down to 12'-14' or so you would catch a couple more then they would get wise and you would have to go find another bunch to pick on it's been odd for sure there wasn't a single fish on the shady side and don't think i even had a hit shooting and like you said Richard the deeper the better my best luck was docks in the 50' range.
