Default Permit price hike next year.

Missouri hunters, anglers to soon pay more for permits

I wish it was more. MDC does an outstanding job but (always a but), I feel like the services offered are always lessening.
Like hot dogs that stayed the same price but are now 2” shorter than the buns….

Glad to have bought the lifetime permit. Now I go to buy one because I forget I bought the lifetime!

I think it's one of those catch 22's. The have plenty of money and income and not all comes from permit sales, not even most thank god. NO One Hunts anymore!

All I'm saying is it's the government and they'll find a way to WASTE it. Not saying they do a bad job but it is what it is!

Permit for life is the way to go, but you have to be 60.

There are enough guys out there that would do the hog hunting and trapping for free it always amazes me why taxpayer money has to go towards hiring quote EXPERTS unquote. In fact what some of the farmers and ranchers charge to hunt their property the DNR could probably make a buck off of it.

In FY 21, MDC hired six new full-time feral hog trappers. The department was also successful in securing federal Farm Bill grant funding for feral hog elimination. In May 2021, agreements were finalized that will provide MDC $1.5 million from these grants for the next three years. Funds will be used to hire four feral hog outreach specialists in partnership with University of Missouri Extension. These specialists will develop additional landowner relationships, publish a quarterly landowner newsletter, communicate with county commissions, and collect damage information. Funding will also be used to purchase equipment for feral hog elimination efforts and to purchase equipment to aid landowners in repairing feral hog damage.

Pretty sure they do not want hunting as an eradication method in MO they say it makes it worse.

Not sure what 6 people in the entire state of MO is really going to do to help other than drain tax money?
