Thread: Afternoon delight!

Took our boat to our honeyhole and started slow with multiple dinks. Tried a couple of spots and then drifted down to place where KABOOM happened before and cast around nada happening when my bobber boy buddy suddenly said Fish on and KABOOM happened again!

We started shallow and he was getting the action while my straight line retrieves were not. So of course I put a bobber on and joined in the ketchn. Action was pretty steady and fish were solid keepers. Been telling my cabin partner about this lake and how well we have been doing so glad it lived up to my stories.

BTW also tossed in a couple of noodle catfish rigs with nightcrawlers on them.

Fishing stopped after while so we tried couple places and gathered up floats and had a 8 lb cat on one of them for a bonus.

Went home and ended up w 20 nice ones 9 to 11 black crappie. Chartreuse jigs were the ticket mostly around 4 to 6 feet in 10 fow.

Went home cleaned fish and then started dinner. 6 young squirrels plus tater tots and chanterell mushrooms and salad. Mmmm good!

Then after dinner the Blue Moon came up and put on a show. Truly epic day!
